Tape Sim is a local audio recording and playback application. It does not collect, process, transmit, or sell personal information or audio data.
Information We Do Not Collect
Tape Sim does not include analytics, telemetry, tracking scripts, accounts, or remote logging. Recordings and project files remain on your local device.
Local Storage
Recordings are saved as WAV files in the working directory you select. Track files are named by track number, such as track1.wav and track2.wav.
Permissions
Tape Sim requires access to your default audio device for recording and playback. No other system permission is used for remote data collection.
Third-Party Libraries
Tape Sim uses PortAudio for audio input and output. PortAudio runs locally inside the application, and Tape Sim does not transmit data to the PortAudio project or its maintainers.
Security
Tape Sim does not encrypt your recordings. Protect your Mac and recording folders from unauthorized access according to your own security needs.
Updates
This policy may be updated when the application changes. Updates will be published with the site or a new application release.
